In Vivo Technician
We are on the hunt for a dedicated and skilled In Vivo Technician to join our clients Biological Resources Unit. This is a unique opportunity to become an integral part of groundbreaking research.
As an Experienced In Vivo Technician, you will be responsible for the care and welfare of our rodents, including both breeding and experimental. You will provide skilled technical assistance with experimental protocols, directly contributing to the scientific outputs of our researchers and collaborators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the highest standards of care and welfare for small rodent housed within the facility
- Perform dosing techniques and tissue collection
- Undertaking procedural monitoring
- Monitor the health status of all animals
- Has a good understanding of Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986
- Provide skilled technical support for experimental protocols
- Maintain a high standard of hygiene in animal housing and procedural areas
- Work closely with research groups to support award-winning science, becoming an essential part of the research process
About You:
- Previous experience in an in vivo role, particularly with rodents, is essential
- Commitment to the 3Rs ethos (Replacement, Reduction, and Refinement) in animal research, with a focus on ethical practices and compassionate care
- Willingness to develop new skills and competencies
- Holds a PIL A-C
