Licensed Animal Technician
S3 Science are looking for a Licensed Animal Technician to join our client in Glasgow. We are proud to be working with our client who are a research institute looking into cancer diseases. They are well known for their collaborative approach, bringing scientists and clinicians together to translate basic research findings.
As a Licensed Technician you will be working in the Biological Service Unit to provide high quality animal husbandry care and experimental procedures if and when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing high quality animal husbandry care
- Administration of altered diets/water
- Sample collection for genotyping
- Participating in procedural work under your Home Office License
- Performing audits when required
- Setting up transgenic matings
- Provide handling assessments for Users undergoing PIL training
- Train other members of staff within the BSU
Job Requirements:
- Previous experience as an Animal Technician working with rodents in a research facility
- Holder of Home Office Personal License
- Working with SOP’s
- Hold or willing to work towards IAT qualifications
- Ability to work weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis
