The topic of this FELASA Congress is Reducing Severity in Animal Research. This central theme will lead through various content streams: Reducing Severity in Animal Care\, Reducing Severity in Animal Use\, and Reducing Severity by training animals and people. Special session: The Roots of Research. \n\n\n\nAdjacent event: HSBLAS 30 Years Anniversary! \n\n\n\nThis congress will give you the chance to refine your knowledge and to share your experience in all fields of laboratory animal sciences. At FELASA 2025 you can visit the largest commercial exhibition and enjoy the luxury of a face-to-face discussion with the most knowledgeable commercial representatives who will bring the latest updates in animal care products and research equipment. \n\n\n\nWe are looking forward to welcoming you to Athens!

SUMMARY:Laboratory Animal Welfare Workshop 2: Managing Post-Operative Pain and Distress in Rodents and Rabbits
DESCRIPTION:Recognising\, preventing and alleviating pain and distress in laboratory animals is a key responsibility of all those involved in their care and use. This workshop is one of two linked workshops and is focussed on assessing and alleviating post-operative pain and distress in laboratory rodents and rabbits.\n\nThis workshop (Workshop 2) will take place in June 2025\, and features pre-recorded and live webinars\, along with e-learning modules. The live sessions aim to provide practical tuition in pain scoring\, and application of pain and distress alleviation strategies to a range of different surgical procedures. Revised and updated content will include new recommendations on use of local anaesthetics in rodents\, and discuss the problems of dose selection of NSAIDs in mice.

SUMMARY:Be Open About Animal Research Day #BOARD25
DESCRIPTION:#BOARD25\, which runs for 24 hours across the globe\, will take place on 3 June 2025\, during the FELASA 2025 Congress. It follows the success of BOARD24\, which saw over 1\,000 biomedical institutions participate and a record 220 partner institutions from 48 countries across six continents. \n \nTo show your interest\, simply complete this form to register by the end of February. \n \nThere’s no need to submit content yet as final materials only need to be sent by the end of April. \n \nHere are some ways to get involved: \n\n\n Partner: Feature your institution’s logo among our global supporters.\n Contribute: Provide quotes\, statements\, or your own examples of openness in animal research.\n Participate: Join a Q&A video to share your experiences.\n\nBy registering EARA can also provide assistance with production of your materials. So join us in making #BOARD25 another global success!  \nFor more information\, contact Inês Serrenho\, BOARD global campaign co-ordinator\, at iserrenho@eara.eu.
