Our association was founded in 1972 and represents the various professionals in scientific and biomedical research who contribute, through the study of animal models, to the improvement of human and animal health as well as to the protection of the environment. AFSTAL’s mission is: to promote the exchange and dissemination of current scientific and technical knowledge concerning animals used for scientific purposes; to promote the training of professionals in good practices for the use of these animals; to promote knowledge and application of the 3Rs: Replacement, Reduce, Refine. Committed to the principles of listening and conviviality, it helps its members improve their daily practices so that their work produces results of the highest quality while encouraging respect and welfare for animals.
